BRAND new day, To sell Yetis to a small distributing company or sell it myself? What do you think?7/1/2012 First thing i want everyone out there to know is!!!!! Selling a film is very hard. Currently i have 2 deal going with Yetis. But i am not sure i am happy with them.
The Third option so far is distributing them myself. I would need to buy at least 5000 copies to sell them at a low price to stores of $3.50 a piece, (plus shipping) they will then retail for $10-$12 wholesale on that part. that way its profitable for everyone. Even the customer who normaly pays $15 per new dvd purchase. Let me know what you guys think. Also Vampire Ticks from Outer Space is almost set up to start filming.

I love your enthusiasm for filmmaking, However, there are many things that you need to know before you you can even think about selling a film to a distributor. Your production value need to go up, the camera you are using is not suitable because it is low quality. A camera that is low cost and great quality is this, the Canon t2i. If you want to really break into this business you should know the basics of Photography and how and what is going on in the film world. There is a whole world of independent filmmakers that give away their knowledge for free on the internet. Here is a website that is full of information to help you become a successful filmmaker www.nofilmschool.com, study hard, read trade magazines like Moviemaker, and or Filmmaker magazine, read blogs of other filmmakers like Phillipbloom.net. Study these things and the quality of your films will get better. Even if you are intentionally making a silly movie, it should still look good. This is meant to help, not to ridicule, I love the passion, trust me on this, it will open you eyes to a whole new world.

Just trying to point you in the right direction, friends and family will always tell you that your work is good, even if it isn't. You want the people in the industry to like your work, not just people who know you. Understanding the basics of photography and video wont make you like everyone else, you will always have your own creative vision. It will just help you make the quality of your films much better. The Canon T2i is a still/video camera, study up on this camera and lenses and you will have great results. Remember, this won't make you turn into everyone else, it will help you compete with everyone else.
